• Leighton Welspun Contractors Pvt. Ltd. is awarded the contract for ONGC's Heera RD Phase-II Pipeline Project.

 

2012

• Leighton Welspun won in the category of “Best Apprenticeship / On the Job Training” where we showcased its Graduate Engineers Training Program, “En-Leighton” at the All India Chief Learning Officers Summit 2012.

• 19th Annual India Oil & Gas Review Summit & International Exhibition (IORS) 2012 Leighton Welspun Pvt Ltd awarded the “Outstanding Achievement   Award 2012”

• Leighton Welspun Contractors Pvt. Ltd. is awarded the contract for ONGC's prestigious Pipeline Replacement Project (PRP 3)

 

2011

• Leighton Contractors (India) Pvt. Ltd. entered into a strategic partnership with Welspun Infra Projects Pvt Ltd (WIPPL) a part of the US $3 billion Welspun Group,  leading to the formation of Leighton Welspun Pvt Ltd.
• Leighton Welspun Contractors Pvt Ltd was awarded the "Emerging Business of the Year" at the Zee Business / RICS Real Estate Awards for its excellence in the building and infrastructure industry.
• Leighton Welspun is awarded a contract for the construction and installation of storm water outfall for Indian Oil Corporation in Orissa.
• Leighton Welspun is awarded the prestigious WIN revamp project in Mumbai.
• Leighton Welspun is awarded the Managlore Refinery Petrochemicals ltd. Project in Karnataka.
• Leighton Welspun is awarded the contract to develop Wave 1 – a multi-functional building project in Uttar Pradesh.
• Leighton International adds two new barges, Faulkner and Fu Xing, to its portfolio to meet the growing demands of its operations.

 

2010

• Leighton India is awarded the G1-GS15 shallow water project in Andhra Pradesh.
• Leighton India is awarded the contract to develop the Paradip Port in Orissa.
• Leighton India is awarded the contract to construct the Chenani-Nashri tunnel, one of the longest road tunnel in India. The project involves the construction of a major road tunnel in Jammu, worth approximately USD 500 million.

 

2009

• Leighton India signs a Project Alliance Agreement with Tata Realty and Infrastructure Limited (TRIL) for the delivery of the new Ramanujan IT Park in Chennai. The project is worth approximately USD 230 million.
• Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd awarded Leighton India a USD 50 million contract for the construction and installation of a single point mooring (SPM) system in Andhra Pradesh, off the east coast of India.
• Leighton India wins the contract to develop Mangala marine facilities at Bhogat, Gujarat.

 

2008

• Leighton signs agreement with Sardar Patel College in Engineering in India.
• Leighton wins the Pipeline Replacement Project – 2, the biggest contract ever awarded by ONGC at the time.
• Leighton is awarded the contract to carry out offshore pipelines residual work for the Paradip refinery in Orissa.

 

2007

• Leighton Group diversifies in the Arabian Gulf with the acquisition of a 45% stake in the locally based Al Habtoor Engineering, one of the largest contractors in the region.
• Redevelopment of Mumbai Airport is awarded to Leighton India.
• Leighton India constructs Motorola’s new mobile phone manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.
• Leighton India awarded the contract to design and develop Wintek's new LCD manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.

 

2006

• The Leighton group acquires Australian and New Zealand contract mining assets of Henry Walker Eltin Group Limited (HWE). The HWE Mining business further strengthened Leighton Contractors position in the contract mining market.
• Leighton India is awarded the contract for the construction and installation of SPM systems and offshore pipelines in Cochin, Kerela.
• Salcomp chooses Leighton to construct its new state of the art manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.
• Leighton India undertakes the Jamngara Export Refinery Project in Gujarat.
• Leighton India wins the contract to redevelop the NH11 connecting Agra to Bharatpur, in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
• Leighton India wins the contract to redevelop the NH3 connecting Indore to Khalghat in Madhya Pradesh.
• Leighton India opens new offices in Delhi and Chennai.

 

2005

• Leighton India secures major project for constructing Nokia’s manufacturing facility in Chennai, India.
• Wins the contract to construct Nokia’s new mobile phone manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.
• Awarded the Ghaziabad – Kanpur signalling & telecommunication modernisation project in Uttar Pradesh.
• Leighton is contracted to build a goods manufacturing facility for electronics major, Flexitronic in Tamil Nadu.

 

2004

• Leighton India open a new office in Mumbai, India.

 

2000

• The February 2000 purchase of 70 percent of John Holland adds to the Leighton Group’s core strength and allows it to tap into new markets and regions.

 

1998

• Leighton India awarded the contract for redevelopment of the NH4 Expressway in Maharashtra.
